Elections in the Ashanti Region have been postponed in three Electoral areas following nomination issues in those areas.

The areas include Pankrono East Electoral area in the Old Tafo Municipality, the Konongo New Town Electoral area in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality and the Aunty B. Electoral area in the Obuasi Municipality.

There is also a court injunction at the Kuwait Aprabon Electoral Area in the Asokwa Municipality which means the Electoral Commission cannot hold the elections there.

The Ashanti Region region has a total of 5671 polling stations with 4197 aspirants contesting for Assembly Members while 8821 aspirants contesting for Unit Committee members.

Twelve polling stations out of the number have candidates who will run unopposed.

Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Benjamin Bannor Bio urged all to go out in their numbers to partake in the exercise.
