Asante Kotoko continue unbeaten run, Hearts drop points again

The match day three of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier league kick started on Friday, where Asante Kotoko visited Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun’s Park.

Kotoko went into the game with an undefeated record and came out of the match unscathed as they added another win to their credit.

The Porcupine warriors stood tall after the 90 minutes with a lone goal from Isaac Oppong, who has 2 goals and 2 assist to his account this season.

Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Nartey showed his delight in his side after that hard fought victory. He admitted that, it was a difficult game, but his tactics and effort of his players gave them the maximum points.

His counterpart and Head Coach of newly-promoted side Bibiana Gold Stars, Michael Osei stated that his team didn’t deserve to lose all maximum points, and they will work hard to recover after such a loss.

Friday night also served us with great football, as Great Olympics came up against Legon Cities. A goal from Maxwell Abbey was enough to separate the two sides.

Maxwell Abbey who is on great form for his side, scoring 4 goals in three matches, was delighted his goal made the difference.

Assistant Coach of Legon Cities, Bashiru Abdul Rahim was the man in the dug out for his side, as their head Coach Maxwell Konadu was away on national duty and brushed off the assertion that his absence affected the team.

According to Coach Bashiru, the absence of the head coach did not cause the team any harm but he believes they will go back to the drawing board and come back strongly.

Defending champions, Hearts of Oak dropped points again after failing to win against Aduana Stars. Kofi Kodzi’s opened the scoring for the Phobians But was cancelled by Bright Adjei.

Hearts were hoping for their first win as they started strongly but they had to settle for another stalemate.

Head Coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu once again expressed his disappointment over their inability to win but he is still hopeful the team will come good.

Also at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium , King Faisal earned the bragging rights in the regional derby after beating Ashanti Gold.

Head coach of King Faisal, Nurudin Amidu showed his delight in the team and praised the team for putting up a good performance.
