Assin South District Budget Officer commits suicide

The Assin South District Assembly Budget Officer, Mr David Baiden allegedly committed suicide Thursday morning.

The deceased, according to reports, has not been well for the past three days and was unable to attend a send-off event held at the assembly on Wednesday.

A local reporter, Oscar Adawu Dadzie told Naagyei FM that Mr Baiden’s colleagues who were expecting him at the event then tried to reach him on phone but it was off. They then followed up to his home to find his door locked. It was then forced open only to find him dead on his bed with foam all over his mouth.

The Assin South District Police Commander DSP Andam Okyere who confirmed the incident said the police found a substance thought to be DDT near his bed which he’s suspected to have drunk.

The body has been deposited at the morgue as investigations begin into the matter.
