Boy, 11, electrocuted at Assin Bereku

An eleven (11) year old boy, Desmond Atta has been electrocuted at Assin Bereku in the Assin North District of the Central Region.

The incident happened when Desmond, a basic three pupil of Bereku Roman Catholic Basic was playing with his friend around an area where there was a loose live wire believed to be supplying electricity to the house of one Kwabena Nyame, a committee chairman in the area.

Reports suggest that the wire has been on the ground for months and all efforts to let Kwabena Nyame restore the wires at their appropriate place have proven futile.

According to deceased parents, the boy was rushed to the Assin Bereku health Clinic and was directed to St Francis Xavier hospital at Assin Fosu only to be pronounced dead upon arrival.
