Cape Coast North parliamentary seat falls for NDC

The Cape Coast North parliamentary seat has been won by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The party’s parliamentary candidate, Dr. Kwamina Minta Nyarku, put up a spirited ‘fight’ to win the poll from the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Barbara Asher Ayisi of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Dr. Nyarku polled 22, 972 votes while Barbara Ayisi polled 21, 643 votes, according to available provisional result from the constituency.

In the presidential race, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP polled 24,360 votes against Mr. John Dramani Mahama of the NDC’s 20, 105 votes.

The certified result is yet to be released by the Electoral Commission.
