Census: Offinso North eyes Municipal status; DCE charges everyone to get counted

Preparations for the 2021 Population and Housing Census by the Ghana Statistical Service are underway in the various assemblies with 27th June set as the “Census Night” to start counting all Persons and Houses in the country.

At a local launch of the programme in Akumadan by the Offinso North district assembly in the Ashanti region, award winning DCE Hon. David Kwasi Asare Boakye “Adwumawura” revealed that the they are optimistic of attaining a municipal status at the end of the exercise therefore everyone at the area should actively participate and get counted to make their vision a reality.

He has therefore pleaded with traditional authorities, assembly members, and all stakeholders to educate their people and spread the message to have a successful census exercise in Offinso North.

For his part, Mr. Festus Apiribu in charge of the Population and House Census at Offinso North District advised residents to provide officers with all required information when they visit their homes during the exercise in order to give government an accurate data to plan for development.
