CID Boss too lenient on NDC officials – Capt. Rtd. Effah Darteh

Former Deputy Interior Minister Capt. (Rtd) Nkrabeah Effah Darteh believes the CID Boss, COP Tiwaa Addo Danquah has been too tolerant to opposition NDC Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo after he disrespected them by publicly declining an invitation by the police.

Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo was picked up Tuesday afternoon for investigation in connection with the recent kidnapping incidents in the country after an unnamed suspect alleged he[Ofosu Ampofo] was responsible for the crime

Following Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s refusal to honour the police invitation, they then proceeded to the court to secure a warrant to effect his arrest.

He was granted bail Tuesday night and scheduled to report to the Police Station on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

Commenting on the development in an interview with Ejura based Naagyei FM, Hon. Capt. (Rtd) Effah Dartey who’s a lawyer by profession said Ofosu Ampofo should have been detained in the Police cells after he was arrested to teach him a lesson to respect and cooperate with the law enforcement agency next.

“The way COP Tiwaa Addo Danquah is working I think she’s doing her best except that I think at times she’s too lenient to NDC officials. The manner in which Ofosu Ampofo disrespected the Police by turning down their invitation until they secured a warrant to arrest him was so bad. I think they should have detained him in the cells for him to know how it feels like so that when the police invite him next time he’ll cooperate with them.”
