Covid-19: Akufo-Addo likely to reopen Ghana’s borders in 16th address tonight

President Akufo-Addo is expected to announce the reopening of the country’s borders later tonight in his scheduled 16th address.

In his previous Address on August 16, 2020 he was optimistic Ghana’s borders would be reopened on September,01.

According to him, the Ministry of Aviation, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the Ghana Airports Co. Ltd., had been working, with the Ministry of Health and its agencies, to ascertain Ghana’s readiness to reopen the airport.

The President is thus billed to address Ghanaians 8:00 pm tonight in relation to further easing of restrictions and measures put in place in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 276 after six more succumbed to the virus

Also, 87 more cases of COVID-19 were recorded taking the national tally to 44, 205.

GHS website, however, reports that active cases have significantly reduced to 1152 with 42, 777 people recovering or discharged.
