The driver of the bus with the registration number GT 4215-17 which caught fire at Akomadan after an accident Tuesday morning, has turned himself in to the police at Ahenkron in the Offinso south district.
The driver of the bus fled after the incident which resulted in the burning of 6 persons and 22 being hospitalized.
The Akomadan District Police Commander, DSP Gyasi Agyemang confirmed the arrest of the driver in an interview.
According to him, he received a call from the police station at Ahenkron, that the driver has turned himself in and was detained yesterday, adding that police officers have been dispatched to bring him to Akomadan to assist investigations.
DSP Gyasi Agyemang said the 22 who were hospitalized have been treated and discharged yesterday since their injuries were minor.
