A 54 year old mentally deranged man at Okorase in the Eastern Region has hacked his 73 year old mother with a machete leaving her with deep wounds on both hands, neck and on the head.
The suspect, Kwadwo Adu alias Kudjo only stopped slashing his mother after a neighbour who rushed to the house upon hearing the victim wailing for help mentioned his name.
He then absconded with the machete and has gone into hiding.
Madama Vida Offeibea was then rushed to the Emergency ward of the Eastern Regional Hospital for treatment.
The Police are currently on a manhunt to trace and arrest the suspect as investigation continues.
