Election 2020: Top candidates Akufo-Addo, Mahama cast votes

The Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has voted in his hometown in Bole Bamboi in the Northern region a while ago.

Before stepping into the voting arena, the former President was mobbed by party sympathizers and fanatics as he went in to cast his vote.

Speaking to the media after voting, Mr. Mahama said despite a smooth process so far, a few hitches had been recorded.

“There was no queue and that is usual of this constituency. I have voted here since 1992. I have voted presidential and parliamentary under three minutes. It is too early to make an assessment but there are a few hitches. I registered with one of my security personnel, but he cannot find his name. We will see the presiding officer to check this anomaly.”

The incumbent, President Akufo-Addo has also voted in his hometown in Kyebi in the Eastern region.

Eleven candidates are in the race to unseat President Nana Akufo-Addo, who is running for his second term.

His main challenger is his predecessor and 2016 opponent, John Dramani Mahama.
