The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta will today present the 2021 first quarter Budget Statement to Parliament.
The Minister will be seeking Parliament’s approval of GHC26.7billion as expenditure estimates for the quarter of next year.
This budget is expected to be tentative depending on who wins the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2020. Should the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) win the elections, the government will present the remainder of the budget to cover the rest of the year.
Mr. Ofori-Atta is expected to announce crucial decisions and measures including measures to revive the economy following the devastation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
This will be the last time Ken Ofori Atta will be presenting a budget to the House of laws during the first term of the Akufo Addo presidency.
