The Vice President says the move is part of measures being explored to avert near collapse of the NHIA as created by the previous NDC administration.

According to him, government inherited “suffocating debt of Ghc 1.2 billion which were accumulated debts from 2014 to 2016 . He said government has however cleared the Debt up to 2017 hence left with 2018 claims which will also be cleared.

The Vice President said this Friday during the opening of the 60th Anniversary and 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Ghana Medical Association ongoing in Koforidua.

Dr Frank Ankobea ,President Ghana Medical Association hinted it will soon initiate steps for review of condition of service for Doctors.
