The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumase Mohammed Salisu Bamba has denied reports that he has been sacked from office.
Some online portals have reported that Hon. Bamba has been asked to leave office immediately and hand over to the Ashanti Regional Minister, pending new appointment of a new MCE.
It was reported that the decision to remove him from office was part of measures to calm down tension and avoid further escalation following the killing of protestors by security forces.
But the MCE has told Naagyeifmonline.com that he’s still at post and no such notice has been given to him.
He, therefore, urged the public to disregard the baseless news report, adding that this can only be a figment of someone’s imagination.
“From last week there were reports linking me to murder, then it was reported that I’d fled town, it was then again reported that I’ve been arrested and then today it is reported that I’ve been sacked. This shows that there’s a deliberate agenda by my detractors to defame me and get me out of office. I pity the online portals that have allowed their mediums to be used to peddle falsehood,” Hon. Bamba stated.
