Nkoranza: GES, GHS celebrates Fruit Day at Barnabas Anglican Basic School

Ghana Education Service in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service has celebrated fruit Day at St. Barnabas Anglican Basic School at Nkoranza on Wednesday.

It is the first of its kind initiated by the Head of the School, Festus Duku and the Local Manager, Venerable Dr. Joe Eyison who’s an Anglican priest.

Madam Sakina Shaibu, Municipal Nutrition Officer addressing the pupils and teachers, gave importance of fruits to our daily life and urge the students to take fruits every day to boost up their health and growth.
She said fruits are the best food one can get for a healthy life.

The Regional School health Education Program Officer, Mr Kwasi Djan told teachers to encourage students to keep eating fruits each day and tell parents during PTA Meetings to buy fruits for their kids to enable them to develop healthy brains.

The School improvement support officer for Nkoranza Central Circuit, Michael Yaw Mensah urged headteachers to organize such programs in their schools to encourage all school children to be part of agenda “lets eat more fruits for a healthy life.
