The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed that all party flags at its National Headquarters and in the respective regions and constituencies be flown half-mast for the next seven days.

The directive, according to a statement signed by the General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, is in honour of the memory of their illustrious son, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, who passed on last Wednesday, November 21, 2018, after a short illness.

According to the party, it received with profound shock and disbelief, news of the passing of the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, whom they described was one of the experienced legislators on the ticket on the party.

Mr. Agyarko until his demise was the Chairman of the Environment, Science and Technology Committee of Parliament.
According to the NPP, the former CEO of the Food and Drugs Board under the erstwhile Kufuor administration, paid his dues to the party having also served as a member of the party’s communications team and represented the elephant family on various media platforms as a regular panelist.

“He served this party with humility, dedication and selflessness to the admiration of all”, the statement in part read.

To the party, the country has lost a great asset by all standards, noting that it stands with the bereaved family and would provide them the needed support in these difficult times.
