Parliament resumes sitting today

Parliament is likely to reconvene from recess today, Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

It’s supposed to be the start of the second meeting of the first session of the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic, a notice to the MPs, dated May 10, 2021, and signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Cyril Kwabena Oteng Nsiah announced.

At least five bills would be tabled for consideration by the House. This includes a law to tighten the nation’s anti-galamsey fight.

The vetting of  President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for Ministers of State and Deputy Ministerial positions will also commence in the first week of this meeting.

Meanwhile, the Duffour and Amoabeng petition over the banking clean-up is also before the House for consideration.
