All 29 suspects who were arrested for rioting during the Arise Ghana demonstration on Monday 28th June, 2022 have been granted police enquiry bail.
Twenty-six (26) of them who met the bail conditions have been released, while the remaining three (3) are still going through the process of satisfying the bail conditions for their release.
Police say the suspects could not be arraigned before the court on Thursday as a result of Martyr’s day celebrations that was marked today.
However, in line with the constitutional provision of not keeping suspects beyond 48 hours, they were granted bail to be arraigned on Monday, 4th July, 2022.
According to the police, efforts are underway to arrest and prosecute other perpetrators in accordance with the laws of the country.
