A new power struggle is brewing in the University of Education, Winneba between the Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin and the Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Prof. Afful-Broni.
Seven University workers have been dismissed for suing the university over the dismissal of the former vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mawutor Avoke and four others.
In the latest twist, Hon. Afenyo Markin who doubles as counsel for the Assemblyman who went to court to demand the removal of Prof. Avoke is now up in arms against the current Vice-Chancellor accusing him of inciting some lecturers to attack him.
“Afful-Broni in his cassock and without shame viciously attacked the image of Avoke but time has exposed all the lies. As the inevitable awaits him, he is now using Bawah and a busy body independent candidate to neutralise me through character assassination. Destroying the lives of others can’t be part of any christian virtue.
“Avoke, Avea Nsoh, Bekoe, Sarpong, Dennis, Kaakyire and Ahmed Jinapor will soon see real justice. In fact many others will see their dignity being restored and it shall be like a dream. The ravening clouds shall not long be victorious”.
