The Suame District Police Command has commenced investigations into the shooting to death in broad daylight of Mark Amofa, a caretaker of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Bantama during a robbery incident.

The victim was seen at the church’s main gate with gunshot wounds on his right chest and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he passed on later.

A four-member gang on motorbikes was said to have trailed the deceased who had just returned from the bank to the church’s main gate.

The armed robbers attacked the victim just before he got off the vehicle as they ordered him to surrender cash.

He was subsequently shot and killed by one of the robbers and sped off with the money said to be ¢4,370.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
