Tadi Kidnap: You can do your own DNA test – Police to families of dead girls

The Ghana Police Service says it has no problem releasing the human remains confirmed to be that of the missing Takoradi girls in the wake increasing demand for independent DNA analysis on the remains.

Many including the family and security analysts have cast doubts at the outcome of the test conducted by the Ghana Police Service.

However, speaking to Starr News, the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu says the family will be informed in due course when the samples can be released to them for the independent analysis.

“When the IGP visited the families in August some of them indicated that they will want to conduct their independent test after ours and we said we don’t have any objection. They can conduct their own independent investigation to confirm or come out with some other findings so that one we don’t have any problem with it.

Asked when the remains will be handed over to the family, ACP Eklu said “There is still more discussions with the families and when the families are informed qs we have started doing after we realized that the families are the priorities so if there are any discussions we have to agree with them first. So we are not going to make any more public announcement, we’ll agree with them first because these are very emotional issues and must be handled with care. My advice is that let us be measured in the way we speak about this issue.”
