Award-winning musician Wendy Shay has apologized to the general public for her ‘indecent’ outfit while on a visit by management and ambassadors of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Social media has been inundated with images of the former first gentleman of the land in a pose with the ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker Wendy Shay in which the musician wore a dress that exposes the midsection of her body.Critics have slammed her sitting posture which saw the former President looking at the exposed part of her body.
Many social media users have mocked the former President saying the picture is a vindication of Wendy Shay who stated in her hit song ‘uber driver’ that “Kufuor pɛ hwɛ” literally meaning Kufour likes looking.
The Board of the YEA Sammi Awuku has since condemned the negative feedback that has been received after the visit mainly due to Wendy Shay.
Mr Awuku in a statement urged Management of the agency to ensure that Ambassadors stick to the Highest Level of Professionalism when paying such courtesy calls.
“Management must also ensure that the Ambassadors use these visits to project the very vision of the Board and Project the new employment opportunities the Agency is offering to the teeming unemployed Youth of our Country.” He said.
Following the backlash, Wendy Shay in a Facebook post has rendered an unqualified apology asking the public to forgive her as she’s still a young lady learning and will do better next time.
“On the 4th of July, 2019,I posted an image of myself and His Excellency Former President John Agyekum Kuffour on my social media timeline. This was after I visited him with my fellow Youth Employment Agency Ambassadors officially. The image I posted went viral on social media for the wrong reasons and I will wish to render an unqualified apology to His Excellency and the board and Management of the Youth Employment Agency. I had no intention of bringing his good image into any public disrepute. I would wish to apologize to the general public as well with most of the comments being directed to my outfit. I am a young lady and I am still learning. To err is human, to forgive is divine. I promise to do better next time. Once again, I am sorry.”
