YEA in afforestation has supported forest sustainability, work must be extended – Dep. Min.

Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu Bio has commended the pivotal role played by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) especially those in the afforestation module under the Forestry Commission.

According to him, the YEA has been supportive of the forest reserves by Planting more trees to boost afforestation and deserves extension of the project.

According to Hon Benito, who also double as Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, the Y.E.A. Program which commenced barely four years ago by NPP government has gone a long way and with the experience gained by the personnel deserve to be honoured.

He was speaking during a tour to some forest reserves at Nkawie Forest Services Division and Mankranso Forest Services Division respectively to assess the ongoing afforestation program with the support from Forest Plantation Development Fund of the Forestry Commission.
