Zylofon FM, TV suspend operations over EOCO order

Zylofon Radio and TV, two stations owned by embattled CEO of Gold dealership firm, Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah say they are shutting down today January 30, 2019 after the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) announced it has frozen all assets of the gold dealer.

A statement signed by the Communications Manager of Zylofon FM/TV, Samuel Atuobi Baah, said “owing to the news release from EOCO dated 20th January and signed by Jacquiline Avotri (Public Affairs), to have all assets of Nana Appiah Mensah frozen, the general public is hereby informed that Zylofon FM and TV, will suspend operations effective 30th January 2019.  Being a law-abiding entity, we expect that the due process be facilitated to restore sanity.” the statement read in part.

The Economic and Organized Crime Office(EOCO) has secured a court order to go ahead with the freezing of all landed properties and vehicles belonging to CEO of troubled gold firm Menzgold Ghana Limited.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Jacqueline Avotri, all employees of the affected company relatives and friends in possession of any the said properties are to surrender them to the EOCO headquarters or its regional offices.

It further called on the general public to assist EOCO by giving out relevant information that will help retrieve all the vehicles and properties of Menzgold.
