14 regions are holding special voting in the early poll.

In 14 of the 16 areas, hundreds of security guards, emergency service workers, and representatives of the Electoral Commission are participating in the special voting process.
Due to a vote paper error that forced the Electoral Commission to order a recall and reprint ballots for the two regions, Eastern and Western, the other two regions will have their special voting on Thursday, December 5.

Joy News’ journalists from different constituencies reported that the voting process generally began on schedule at 7:00 am, while there were some places with early lines.

But as the day goes on, the lines have gotten shorter because only little more than 130,000 voters are anticipated to cast ballots.

Voting will be held in 328 locations across the country, with 131,478 eligible voters—or 0.007% of the 18.7 million voters—participating.
From 7:00 am until 5:00 pm, the polls will be open.

Voting in the Greater Accra Region’s Adentan constituency, where 1,202 registered voters are anticipated to cast ballots, began at 7:02 a.m. with about 50 persons already waiting to cast their ballots.

Kwaku Asante of Joy News said that voting was proceeding without any problems in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, which is also located in Greater Accra.

Actor John Dumelo, a parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), informed Kwaku Asante that he is certain he will receive at least 60% of the votes in the special election in Ayawaso West Wuogon. Dumelo was present to witness the proceedings.
Lydia Alhassan, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) incumbent MP, was also present at the centre to see the exercise.

Absent names

According to James Avedzi of Joy News, two people were turned away from a polling station in the Korle Klottey Constituency of the Greater Accra Region because their names were not on the voter list.

A journalist and a security guard claim that after completing the registration process in the hopes of casting their ballots today, they were informed that their names were not on the voter list.
Over 2,800 voters are anticipated to cast ballots in the region, according to Joy News’ Upper West Regional Correspondent Rafiq Sallam, who notes that the voting procedure at two locations in the wa Municipality has been quiet and orderly.

Collins Frimpong of Joy News also says that voting is proceeding without incident at the James Town Police Station in the Odododiodio Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, despite the fact that one voter’s name was missing from the register.

Late start

As of 9:00 am, voting has not begun in the Ashanti Region’s Offinso North constituency.
Officials from the Electoral Commission at the centre claim that the voter’s registration was not one of the items sent to them on Sunday.

In order to begin the exercise at the facility, where 566 people are anticipated to cast their ballots, they had thus dispatched for the register from Kumasi.

At two voting stations at the Bono Regional Police Headquarters in Sunyani, 1,137 voters are anticipated to cast ballots in the Bono Region’s Sunyani East Constituency.

Jona Seli, Centre A’s presiding officer, reports that the exercise, which began at 7:00 am, has gone well thus far.

Across the Upper East area, where 7,080 voters are anticipated to cast ballots in the region’s 15 seats, voting is proceeding without incident, according to Joy News’ Upper East Regional Correspondent Albert Sore.
