19 Ghanaians die from COVID-19 in a day

Nineteen(19) more persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in one day sending Ghana’s death toll to 561, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported.

This is the highest recorded number of deaths in a single day since the virus was imported into the country in March 2020.

A total of 702 new cases have been confirmed increasing the country’s active cases to 7,866.

So far Ghana has recorded 77,748 COVID-19 cases, with 69,321 having recovered.

The regional breakdown of cases is as follows:
