The Director of Election for the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Mr Afriyie Ankrah has stated that the 2020 general election was one of the most poorly conducted, flawed, and manipulated elections in the history of this country.
To him, the claims by the EC chairperson, Jean Mensah that the 2020 general election is the best is false and therefore Ghanaians should treat it as such.
He added that the unprecedented number of rejected ballots recorded in the elections are largely due to the incompetence and recklessness of the Electoral Commission.
“The dubious handling of the printing and distribution of ballots papers and other electronic materials”.
On the reforms proposed by the Electoral Commission through IPAC, the NDC led by the Director of Election said the most important reform requirement is for the EC to reform itself that’s Jean Mensa and Bossman Asare must be the first to reform and change the attitude of arrogance and bias, particularly against the NDC.
“Our position on this proposal is simple the current arrangements of principles are 5pm as well, perfectly in seven general elections in this country, and does not require any fixing”he said.
