Tony Mintah, the CEO of NextGen InfraCo, a Ghanaian company, was reported missing earlier today, but the police say they have located him.
The licence agreement to carry out Ghana’s 5G spectrum upgrade has been given to NextGen InfraCo.
Police claim that unknown individuals removed Mr. Mintah from the National Communications Authority (NCA).
Currently, Mr. Mintah is being moved from the Kaneshie Police Station, where he was being detained, to the Police Headquarters.
The development occurs just one week before Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the minister of communication, declared that the 5G service would be implemented on November 1.
The Minister established the Next-Gen InfraCo (NGIC) in June 2024 with the goal of providing reasonably priced 5G mobile broadband services.
