A/R: New Immigration Office to be opened in Ejura – MCE

A new ultra modern office is to be commissioned soon for the Ghana Immigration Service in Ejura in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mohammed Salisu Bamba who made the disclosure in an interview with Naagyei FM, stated that building the new office forms part of measures to improve on the security of the area with regards to illegal entry.

“For the first time in the history of Ejura, I’ve put up an office for the Immigration Service, the officers have come to inspect office spaces and accommodation provided them to make them comfortable to discharge their duties efficiently. This forms part of efforts to boost the work of the security officials in the area. Luckily, we also have Prison officers stationed in this area who will collaborate especially during this festive season to clampdown on armed robbery and other crimes.”

Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba urged the residents to endeavour to volunteer information to the police to enable them deal ruthlessly with criminals operating in and around the municipality.

He also disclosed that he’s petitioned the Interior Minister to beef up security at the Ejura Police station.

Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba further assured residents of his administration’s commitment to fight the armed robbery menace in the area and make it one of the peaceful areas in the Ashanti Region.

Ejura and its environs are noted to be armed robbery prone areas with mostly market women being attacked by armed robbers while on their journey.
