Assemblyman slapped with GHC4,000 and one year suspension over illegal connection

The Assembly member for Brigade -Kotokole line in Ejura – Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Hon Mohammed Sisu Gyaminu has been find GHC4,000 and one (1) year suspension from Assembly meetings for illegal water connection to his house.

The accused assembly man admitted to engaging in the illegality and pleaded for the fine to be reduced when he appeared before a committee set up to investigate him.

Hon Sisu’s case cropped up during the Assembly’s meeting held on Wednesday.

In an interview with NAAGYEI FM 90.3 reporter Kwabena Adjei Adom Arakwa, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Hon Alhaji Bamba described the culprit assembly man’s action as embarrassing, adding that the assembly which does not countenance criminality had no option than to punish him.
