Ato Forson: The National Cathedral site is currently home to the priciest swimming pool in the world.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has taken a strong stance against the National Cathedral project, calling the construction site the “world’s most expensive swimming pool” and harshly criticising it.

Dr. Forson vented his dissatisfaction on Tuesday, September 17, on Twitter about the project’s lack of progress, saying that it has been in development for a few years but hasn’t made much visible headway.

Dr. Forson emphasised that the National Cathedral has received large public funding, but all that is standing at the location is a pit filled with water.

He questioned the project’s administration and the transparency of the funding, drawing comparisons between the circumstances and an abandoned galamsey (illegal mining) site.
