Co-chair for the ad-hoc committee hearing Minority Motion of Censure against Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, K.T Hammond, has accused the media of misreporting proceedings on the first public sitting of the committee.
A section of the media reported that the Adansi Asokwa MP said he does not buy fuel contrary to earlier comments about how biting the fuel price increments have been for him.
A viral video of the proceedings captured the lawyer for Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko pointing to someone on the committee to check their phone for information.
This was interpreted to mean the messages were meant for K.T Hammond after which he started asking critical questions.
But speaking at the commencement of day two of the hearing, the former Deputy Energy Minister stated he had put off his phone during the proceedings and thus couldn’t have received any communication from Gabby as reported.
