Court remands five Konongo-Odumasi SHS murder suspects

The Konongo-Odumasi District Court presided over by Her Worship Joyce Bamfo has remanded five students of the Konongo Odumasi Senior High school to 7 days in custody at the Juaso juvenile detention center.

The students are standing trial in connection with the stabbing of a 15-year-old first-year student to death on Friday 5th November, 2021.

The students went on a bullying spree on the night of Friday, November 5, 2021, after prep hours leading to the attack on the deceased, Sam’un Larhan, 15.

The students are facing murder-related charges in the case held in camera because of their juvenile status.

Larhan Sam’un, the deceased, was stabbed with a knife by his colleague after he attempted to resolve a scuffle between the suspect and his mates.

Preliminary investigations by the police show that the prime suspect, 17-year-old Emmanuel Frimpong was abusing some form-one students and upon resistance by some students, he stabbed Larhan Sam’un to death.

Counsel for the key suspect Richard Adu Darko whose bail plea was rejected by the presiding judge Her Worship Joyce Bamfo also explains the court decision did not violate the right of the juveniles.
