Covid vaccine: Provide insurance package for those who’ll suffer side effects – Dr. Obeng to Govt

The Chief Executive Officer of Devina Herbal Clinic located at Taifa in the Greater Accra Region, Dr Ernest Obeng has called on the government of Ghana and the Ministry of Health to immediately introduce an insurance package for victims that would suffer from the effect of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Dr Obeng said, medical research has proven over the years that no medicine or vaccine is one hundred percent potent for everybody and therefore, there would be some reactions either negative or positive when administered to Ghanaians and so the government and the ministry should be proactive and responsive for the outcome.

Speaking to Kasapafmonline.com, he said definitely some people would die or have series of health effects after being administered with the vaccine, so the government must be ready to institute an insurance package to compensate the deceased or otherwise the affected families.

“Is good that Ghana has gotten delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine but it will not react the same way in people. Even paracetamol reacts differently in people so we should be prepare for the various outcome,” Dr Obeng stated.

“Even though the vaccine is good, it’s not an armoured car that when you take it you have to loose yourself from other safety protocols.”

He added that the Ministry of health must also engage in an intensive education on the possible side effect and whether it’s one time off vaccine or has a limit of potency because many Ghanaians are clueless of the vaccine.

Dr Obeng, who is also the founder and head pastor of Mt. Zion Prayer Ministry International said Ghanaians must not forget that the vaccine alone is not a bullet proof and therefore must take the vaccine alongside working to boost the immune system to enable the anti bodies to naturally fight any disease or virus.

He said many of the Covid-19 vaccines developed so far have chloroquine component and when the medicine was first introduced in the world, it has to be banned because it reacted negetively in some people so Ghana should prepare for its effect.

Dr. Obeng said his clinic after the outbreak of Covid-19, has treated 30 Covid-19 patients who were diagnosed at Nyaho Clinic and 37 Military Hospital and their records are ready for any verification.

Dr Obeng said some of these 30 patients were among those who were travelling to Germany and after 10 days at the clinic when they did the second test at the same hospitals their results came out negative.

The CEO called on the government and the ministry not to entirely abandon the use of natural medicine but rather complement it with the vaccine for Ghana to have freedom from the virus.
