Dr. Addison, a former governor of the BoG, had his house raided.

Former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison’s private home in Roman Ridge was reportedly overrun by a gang of heavily armed men who are believed to be from the National Security Secretariat.

According to Accra-based Asaase Radio, the former governor was present throughout the operation, which happened early on Wednesday, March 19.

According to the report, a gang of roughly twenty people brandishing guns turned off the CCTV system when they arrived and demanded that Dr. Addison show them “vaults” that were purportedly concealed in his home.
However, according to the article, Dr. Addison denied having any money vaults or caches at home.

In spite of his answer, the agents went ahead and looted the house, leaving it in ruins.

Asaase Radio claims that their security team’s search turned up no vaults or substantial amounts of cash, but they did seize the CCTV monitor and control device before departing the area.

Dr. Addison and his family are upset by the development, according to the story.

This occurs one month after a comparable occurrence at the former Finance Minister’s Accra residence.

On February 11, 2025, a group of 12 people—including the two defendants, nine members of the armed forces, and plainclothes officers—allegedly broke into Mr. Ofori-Atta’s property without a warrant or warning.

The former minister says the raid hurt his reputation and caused great grief to his domestic workers while he was abroad for medical treatment.
