Ejura-Sekyedumase MUSEC meets Zongo Leaders over security issues ahead of Eid-al Adha

The Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) has held a meeting with the Zongo community in Ejura ahead of the Eid-ul Adha celebration scheduled for Sunday, July 10, 2022.

The meeting was held on Friday and chaired by the MCE for Ejura, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei who’s Chairman of MUSEC was intended to draw the attention of the members of the Zongo Community on the need to be security conscious during the Eid celebration.

He charged the community members to be wide awake during the festivities to ensure that no foreigners or terrorists infiltrate them and cause mayhem in the town in the era of terrorist attacks in Ghana’s neighbouring countries.

“Intelligence report has revealed that lots of foreigners are coming to this area and these are the people we should be mindful of. Because they do not live here in Ejura, they come into the town and cause problems and sneak out right after they executive their criminal and unlawful deeds. Whenever you see a stranger or any suspicious person, alert the security agencies to act. Parents should also do well to take very good care of their children and not allow them to be idling about in the evenings. and in so doing we’ll continue to live peacefully and safely,” Dr Kingsley Osei said.

The Mampong Divisional Police Commander, ACP Amoako on his part noted that Ejura is a settler community and there’s the likelihood that foreigners infiltrating the residents of Ejura.

“Especially when it’s Eid celebration, there are lots of people mainly the youth from Kumasi, Techiman and other communities coming to Ejura, and the sort of things they do in Ejura is so terrible. We’re urging the leaders of this community to alert us whenever there’s an issue so that the Police move in to deal with the matter as soon as possible.”

On his part, the Nifahene for Ejura Traditional Council, Nana Osei Kwadwo who represented the Ejuramanhene, Barima Osei Hwedie urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used for unlawful deeds as they may face the law alone when they are arrested.
