The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has voted in his hometown, Walewale in the 2020 General elections.
After exercising his franchise, the Vice President urged for massive turnout asking citizens to participate in the 2020 general elections.
“I urge all to come out in your numbers to vote,” said Dr Bawumia.
Polls have opened in many centres across Ghana as voters elect a new president and 275 members of parliament.
Voting started at 7:00 am and is scheduled to close by 5:00 pm.
Covid-19 protocols are strictly being enforced. Those not wearing face masks will not be allowed to vote.
Over 17 million voters are expected to partake in today’s voting.
Over 33,000 polling stations have been dedicated for the presidential and parliamentary polls.
This is Ghana’s eighth election since the return of multiparty democracy in 1992.
