The underfire Anglican priest who was captured on camera kissing three students of St Monica’s College of Education during Sunday mass, Reverend Father Baltharzzar Obeng Larbi, has apologized for his conduct.
Rev Fr Larbi in a statement issued on Thursday 19 August 2021, admitted his action was wrong and asked for forgiveness.
The statement added: “I pray for forgiveness from all and sundry and plead that you hold me in your prayers during this trying times. May God bless us all, I seemed to have taken a number of things for granted. I did not think my behaviour through.”
The Anglican Church, Ghana has however established a five-member committee to investigate the man of God’s conduct.
The committee which has officially begun its work is expected to submit its findings and recommendations to the Anglican Church and the school authorities on 31 August 2021.
Reverend Father Baltharzzar Obeng Larbi, came under heavy flak by a section of the public after the video of him kissing the students went viral on social media.
Aside his action being morally wrong, many slammed him for engaging in such act at a time the country continues to have an increase in COVID-19 cases.
