General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Justin Frimpong Kodua has said Founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Otchere Darko did not influence the appointment of former staff of the Institute into the party’s Executive body.
.There have been concerns among a section of the party members over what they say is the Danquah Institute hijacking the leadership of the New Patriotic Party.
But the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong in an interview on Peace FM said the party’s NEC had good reasons for making those appointments.
Speaking on the Executive director of the Danquah Institute (DI), Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko and Haruna Mohammed having been appointed deputy general secretaries of the NPP, Mr. Kodua said, “the decision was born out of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and it has absolutely nothing to do with the Founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Otchere Darko. I personally selected Dr. Tsiboe-Darko because of her competent and unprecedented abilities. Dr. Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko is very analytical, also looking at her Central Regional background I believe she’ll be of great help for the NPP heading towards a crucial election”, he said.
“Again, I proposed Haruna myself with the backing of the steering committee of the party. As a hard-working Northerner. I’m very confident that he will also support the quest to break the 8 for the NPP”, Justin Frimpong Kodua added.
Former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Richard Ahiagbah was also appointed as the new Director of Communications.
