The country is today marking the 18th anniversary of the biggest soccer disaster in its history which left 129 fans dead and several others injured.
It was a mid-week soccer game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2001.
An unacceptable outcome of the game resulted in the ripping of seats at the then Ade Coker stands by some soccer fans.
The Police responded with tear gas which led to stampede resulting in the death of over a hundred people.
Accra Hearts of Oak came from a goal down to win that historic match 2:1 against their arch rival Kumasi Asante Kotoko
