The Ghana Premier league continues to deliver exciting moments every week this season and matchday four(4) was no exception.
The Week four (4) matches started off on Friday, where inform side King Faisal traveled to Berekum in the Bono Region hoping to continue their winning streak.
King Faisal looked promising from the onset of the match but Berekum Chelsea finally took control of the game and handed Grunsah’s babies their first defeat in the ongoing Ghana Premier league season.
A goal from Paul Attah Agyei on the 35th minute was enough to separate the two sides. King Faisal after the goal pushed for the equalizer but were not successful as their hope of making it two in two in Bono Region ended on a losing note.
Head coach of King Faisal, Nurudin Amadu was gracious in defeat stating that you can not always win.
“You can’t win all matches, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. The season is long and we need to concentrate on the remaining fixtures”- he said.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko continued from where they left off last week as they outplayed Techiman Eleven Wonders on their way to winning their fourth consecutive league match of the ongoing season through Samuel Boateng’s brace.
Kotoko opened the scores in the first half when Samuel Boateng gave the Porcupine warriors the lead on the 30th minute. Boateng’s goal interestingly was the first time this season that Kotoko had scored in the first half.
Isaac Oppong doubled the lead for his side on the 75th minute and that goal seems to have to taken the wind out of Eleven Wonders’ sail ending the game 2-0 in favour of Kotoko.
Elsewhere in Dormaa , the game between Aduana Stars and Real Tamale had to continue in the early hours of Sunday after the game was called off at 1-1 after the first half due to a heavy downpour. However Aduana Stars seem to have profited from the break as they thrashed Real Tamale United by 5:1 when the game was resumed the next day.
Accra Hearts Of Oak woes continued at Obuasi when they faced Ashgold. The miners made things worse for the Phobians, after defeating them by 2:0.
Goals from Yaw Annor on the 53rd minute and Abdul Salam on the 90th minute earned victory for Obuasi Ashgold.
After the match, Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu spoke on his job security.
‘’Coaches are hired to be fired and if the Board and Management feel there is someone who can change things around I am ready to leave “
Will he be in charge of Accra Hearts Of Oak in their next league game and can he turn things around for the phobias? Only time will tell.
