High court stops #FixTheCountry demo

The High Court, presided by Justice Ruby Aryeetey, has issued a restraining Order against conveners of “FixTheCountry” from embarking on a planned demonstration slated for Sunday, 9th May 2021.

The restraining order follows an affidavit filed by the police against conveners of the protest march pursuant to Section 1(6) of the Publk Order Act, 1991 (491).

“The Accra Regional Police Command Is hereby drawing the attention of the general public especially organisers or conveners of FixTheCountry protest march, their associates, officers, agents, assigns and workmen, to the restriction order and compliance,” a statement by the Police said.
