Ignore reports Bagbin flew to Dubai with his children – Speaker’s Office

The Office of the Speaker of Parliament has denied media reports that the Speaker, Alban Bagbin travelled to Dubai for his medical treatment with his children.

According to a statement from the Office issued on Monday, March 7, 2022, the said publications in both the new and traditional media should be ignored and treated with contempt.

“We want to place the following on record: The Rt. Hon. Speaker did not travel to Dubai with his children as is being alleged. Indeed, Mr Speaker has never included his children in any of his trips. Travel expenses for Mr Speaker’s trip to Dubai are in accordance with what is prescribed for the Speaker of Parliament long before Rt. Hon Bagbin became Speaker, and also for analogous members of government such as the President, Vice President and the Chief Justice.”

Explaining further, the statement also called on well-meaning Ghanaians to treat with contempt figures being bandied around as per diem for Mr Bagbin’s trip.
