Professor at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research(ISSER), Professor Peter Quartey has backed the government on its quest to increase road toll to generate more funds for nation-building.
Speaking at the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Virtual Seminar on the 2021 Budget under the theme:2021 National Budget; Prospects for Recovery, Resilience and Competitiveness for Private Sector Growth, the professor said the road toll will bring revenue and relief the government from going to the capital market for borrowing which has its own implications of high-interest rates.
On the Budget, Professor Peter Quartey is of the view that the 2021 Budget has hope in it but Ghanaians should sacrifice their quota as Ghanaians and be watchdogs and minimize corruption.
