The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has taken a significant step to empower migrants with vital information by renovating, establishing, and supporting a Migration Information Center in Nkoranaza South, under the Ghana Immigration Service.
This initiative aims to provide migrants with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their migration journey, promoting safe and regular migration.
In a speech on behalf of the Chief of Mission IOM, Ms. Fatou Diallo Ndiaye, emphasised the importance of empowering migrants with the necessary information to make informed decisions.
To facilitate this, the IOM donated essential office equipment, including:
– Computing Equipment: Laptops, desktop computers, and accessories
– Communication Tools: Portable public address system and mobile phones
– Office Essentials: Water dispenser and Stationery

The Bono East Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Services, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, expressed his gratitude to the IOM for their support, pledging to utilize the donated items immediately.

The IOM’s overarching goal is to ensure the protection, respect, and fulfillment of the rights and well-being of migrants, regardless of their migration status.
The IOM has been actively working in the region to combat irregular migration.
