Ofaakor District Court presided over by his lordship Samuel Kwesi Adjei has today remanded the two teenagers who killed a 10 year old boy Ishmael Mensah at Lamtey in the Ga South Municipality for rituals to police custody and to reappear before the court on 19 may 2021.
Their docket has been referred to Attorney General’s office.
Prosecutor Chief inspector Ernest Abgo revealed to the court that, now it’s confirmed that, the second accused person is 15 years after further investigation it means he was born in 1st September 2005 while the second accused person is also getting to 19 years it means he also was born in 2 August 2002.
Last two weeks, the issue of the age of the second accused person was an issue but now everything is clear after investigations were made.
After the court proceedings Spokesperson for the family of the late Ishmael Mensah, Samed Akalilu appealed to Attorney General to speed up with their dealings and also charge the police not to delay in the investigations because all the family needs is justice.
Meanwhile, lawyer for the accused person Lawyer Samuel Attuah said he agreed with the court proceedings but says he will work hard to secure bail for them in the next court appearance.
