The Women’s Wing of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) says it is saddened and shocked by the death of its Icon, Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe after a short illness.
According to the Wing, the late former Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency even in her old age had been reliable, very supportive, still monitored its activities and shared her opinion concerning the NDC whenever necessary.
The group also recalled Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe’s substantial attainment as Member of Parliament, the National women’s organizer of NDC, the Central Regional Minister, and also as a Council of State member.
The National Women’s Organizer of the NDC, Dr. Hannah Louisa Bisiw in a statement said “Mummy I promise on behalf of the women’s wing, to uphold the flame that you had lit for women, the party, the country, and the African continent at large.”
The women’s wing of NDC further expressed its condolences to the bereaved family, adding that “indeed an oak tree has fallen.”
