Former President John Dramani Mahama is expected to address the media and the international community detailing his decision to challenge the 2020 election petition at the Supreme Court.
Earlier, today, the National Communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi and legal practitioner, Godwin Edzudie Tamakloe led the NDC team to fike the petition at the apex court.
To this end, the NDC is officially challenging the results as declared by the Electoral Commission boss Madam Jean Mensa.
Per the laws of the country, parties who are not satisfied with a resukt of an election have 21 days to challenged that, and today marks exactly 21 days from the December 7, polls.
With some brown envelopes in their armpit, the contingent walked magestically stormed the the court premises around 12:10pm and successfully filed the application 35 minutes later.

In 2012, the New Patriotic Party filed te very first of such petition after after over eight months in court, their petiton was refused.
The Supreme Court led by Justice Kwasi Anim Yeboah is expected to determine this petition within 42 days.
