The outgoing Medical Superintendent of the Ejura Government Hospital, Dr Mensah Manye has said he cannot be suppressed or gaged by anybody in the discharge of his work.
Dr. Manye who has been transferred to head a health centre in Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region after he testified before the committee that investigated the alleged killings in Ejura by soldiers said he’ll continue to speak the truth and be fearless in doing his work.
In his final address to the staff of the Ejura Government Hospital, Dr. Manye who worked for almost seven years at the hospital recounted how by the grace of God and through his leadership maternal mortality has been a thing of the past at the hospital.
Dr. Manye cited the lobbying for incubators, the advanced stage of the construction of the maternity block which was at the foundation stage when he took over, the creation of additional pharmacy units within the administration block and the construction of offices, construction of the emergency unit, ultra-modern X-tray unit as some of his achievements,
He confidently said he’s leaving the Ejura Government Hospital with his chest out because he believes he’s leaving the facility in a better position than he inherited.
“I met the dark state of Ejura hospital but now I’m leaving with the lights on. As a mature Medical Superintendent with many years of experience posting me to another place is not a problem. I will continue to render high quality of service to valuable clients wherever I find myself.”
He expressed his gratitude to the Ejura Traditional Council, the Christian Council and the Moslem community for their support and cooperation during his tenure of office.
