NPP Primaries: Kyei-Mensah Bonsu should go unopposed – Suame Chiefs

Chiefs in Suame constituency in the Ashanti region led by Kwaprahene Baffour Adugyemfi Kumani are pushing for Member of Parliament for Suame constituency Osei-Kyei Mensah- Bonsu to be allowed to contest unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

According to Nana Kwaprahene, the works and achievements of the Majority Leader are unprecedented and visible for all to see.

The chiefs at a press conference called on the youth who are campaigning against the MP to stop such activities in the constituency and offer their support to the MP to complete the good projects he has initiated in the constituency.

“We the chiefs are not doing politics, but in the interest of the development of Suame which has now been made a Municipality, we know Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu’s continues stay in Parliament will be in our best interest. We want the party leadership to make him contest unopposed, we are throwing our support behind the Majority Leader. With what he’s done for this constituency we’ll do ourselves a great disservice if we don’t ensure that he’s protected to stay in Parliament. Every one of us Chiefs is going to urge his people irrespective of whether they are NDC, CPP or PNC sympathizers to massively support the candidature of Hon. Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.”

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold Parliamentary primaries in areas where it has sitting Members of Parliament (MP) on April 25, 2020.

The NPP has I69 sitting Members of Parliament out of the total 275 seats in Parliament.
